ROMANS 12: 1-2
VS. 1- I BESEECH you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
VS. 2- And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye mat prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of
God.
In a search for truth and understanding we are ever intrigued by what is the will of God
for our lives. You may be one who believes that you are in the perfect will of God and
that nothing is wrong with the will of God and you are satisfied; Or you may be one
who finds yourself at times where it seems that the will of God is perfect in your life
then other times it seems to elude you; Or you may be one that is continually seeking
the will of God for your life.
To the one who feels that you are in the perfect will of God for your life, you may be
commended. However, you may be in a comfort zone in your walk with God and
maybe find yourself not challenged in your walk with God. To the one that seems to be
in the perfect will of God at times and other times find yourself searching for the will of
God because you find yourself in a trial or battle; it is hard to see the will of God in
those times. It is through those times that God causes you to seek His face and truly
move you into His perfect will. Some at times are seeking God and at other times do
not seek God as diligently as they should; this life style can be very disruptive to your
walk with God. Also, listening to others and there opinion of what the will of God is for
you can be confusing. Too many times the will of God is measured on the fleshly level
and not the spiritual level. Well over 75 % of the true church of Jesus Christ is on this
level of the will of God. To ones that are constantly seeking the will of God
dissatisfaction of where you find yourself in God may be the cause of your not
understanding the will of God for your life or you are not willing to do what He has
already set for you.
God wants us to know His will for our lives. Even though we are taught to seek the
Lord continually we do not have to live in ignorance of the will of God for our lives. All
of us want to live in the perfect will of God; this takes a constant vigil over our lives in
every aspect. Praying without ceasing, is the key to finding the perfect will of God. (I
Thessalonians 5: 17) At times the will of God is very obvious; other times the will of
God requires seeking and waiting for the perfect will of God. Understanding how the
will of God operates can bring us to peace which passes understanding.
First, be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Change your thinking that God is
with you at times and at other times He's not. He is present. (Psalms 46:1) This should
remind you that God has a purpose for where you are in life. We just need to make the
right decision. At times the choice is simple; other times it requires patience in waiting
for the answer.
The word will in its translation is defined as purpose; meaning that nothing in our life
with God is insignificant.
THAT GOOD WILL OF GOD- The word good in translation is defined as beneficial.
At times in life there is a beneficial purpose in what we need to do in our lives; (I.E.)
attending church or revival. This part of the will of God is very obvious and should not
require a great deal of seeking. (Going to church at any rate should not be a great
question.) God has already defined this part of His will through His Word; we just need
to obey. (Micah 6:8)
THAT ACCEPTABLE WILL OF GOD - The word acceptable in translation is defined
as agreeable. At times there is an agreeable purpose in what you want to do in God.
This is a more free part of the will of God. This part of the will of God allows us to
experience the liberty we have living in the Spirit. God may allow you to do something
in His kingdom because it is in conformity to the Word of God. Also in this part God
will allow you to have or perform the desires of your heart, again, as long as it is in
conformity with His Word. This requires constant seeking of the favor of God.
THAT PERFECT WILL OF GOD- The word perfect in translation is defined as
complete.
Every one should have a desire to have the complete purpose of God for their lives. We
can see by living toward the other two parts of the will of God that having the perfect
will of God in our lives is not as difficult as it seems. God does have a complete purpose
for your life.
I am convinced that lack of joy in a lot of peoples walk with God is their not
understanding or seeking the will of God for themselves. Opinions or seeking after
opinions can be very confusing. Even though people mean well, flesh can often reason
by what is seen and not the ways of the Spirit. Also, some try to determine the will of
God to please others. You will live a very disappointed life in God if you constantly try
to please people. (Galatians 1:10) True happiness and peace is living in the will of God.
I am not saying that you will never have a battle or a trial; on the contrary, you have to
contend to live in the will of God which is required by faith. (Jude 3)
I pray that this message will enlighten and encourage whoever reads it to a greater
understanding and desire for the will of God for your life. Do Not BE Afraid of God's
will for your life, often people fear the will of God because they can't see how they will
be happy or think that God is going to disappoint them. God has promised you will not
be disappointed when you surrender to His will. In fact what you think will be a burden
or no joy could be the very thing of what you've been missing all along. Find that will of
God for yourself ; you will walk in a place in His Spirit that you will have peace that
you have not experienced before and find many great blessings, physical and spiritual in
God.
At the beginning of this New Year you can begin a journey of having found the will of
God in your life. Let the Spirit use this message to start you on that walk with Him to
change your heart and mind to finding THAT GOOD, AND ACCEPTABLE, AND
PERFECT, WILL OF GOD.
