| JOHN 15: 7- IF YE ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YE SHALL ASK WHAT YE WILL AND IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO YOU. In the Pentecostal / Charismatic movement we have experienced the teaching of "Name It, Claim It". The text of this teaching comes from John 14:14- If ye ask anything in my Name, I will do it. Without any doubt or compromise this is a very powerful scripture of The Authority of the Name of Jesus. He will perform what we pray when we ask through the authority of The Name of Jesus. Nothing can stand in the way. However, it is not just anyone that can lay claim to the authority of the Name of Jesus. There is a stipulation of who has a right to claim authority of the Name of Jesus. The first part of that stipulation is IF YE ABIDE IN ME, (JESUS)! When we pray and make requests to God about what we want to see Him do we must examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. II Corinthians 13:5. If we abide in Christ we will have the faith that God can operate in. And the authority will be there to have the petitions that we desire of Him. I John 5:15. We are well taught in the first part of John chapter 15 to abide in the vine. The branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abide in the vine. John 15:4 In this scripture we can plainly see that in order to operate in an authority that God will adhere and to have that authority in your life you must stay in the vine. The second stipulation of asking what we will and seeing God perform is, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, We must give place in our lives where the Word is living inside of us. In truth, it should be the only thing that is we should allow to grow in our lives. The Word must have precedence over every part of our life. On this thought I must add, it is great that Jesus has no problem staying in us! Even when we don't abide in Him like we should; when we fail in an aspect of our life, or maybe we get away from where God wants us to be; He said He would never leave us, nor forsake us, Hebrews 13:5 When the Word is living inside of us and our desires are in alignment with the Word of God then we are able to pray by the Word of God and speak by the authority of the Word of God in us. The Word Has to Name It For You. When you have met these two stipulations, verified by the Word of God, then you will be able to speak by the authority of the Word, we will be naming whatever we desire by the Word of God, (which is way beyond the doctrine of "Name It, Claim It") And God will perform on the authority of the Word in Us, And Us In His Word, AND HE WILL DO IT! Mark 11: 23-24 Jesus said further in John 15: 8- Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. It is God's desire for His Church to have the Authority by the Word to have access to the Same Power, Not a different or subsequent power, but the same Power that He is and He fully intended to operate in His Church. His Church is indeed the authority He operates through on the earth. We honor God when we bear the same fruit of healing, deliverance, and authority over Satan that Jesus has. Indeed it is God's good pleasure to give His Church the Kingdom of God. Luke 12:32. Let us be mindful abide in the Word of God and have the Word abide in us. Let The Word Name It For You! Name It By The Word! |
